Have you been struggling with certain parts of your life, not knowing what your next step is, or what God wants you to do? You are a believer, and you are hearing God speak, but things feel as if they are still a mess, your health, your finances, your relationships, your day-to-day walk feels like it is constantly under attack and it feels like you are not gaining the victory in these areas.
Sometimes instead of blaming it all on the enemy, you should take a deep breath, and refocus. Not on your own plans and resolutions, but on Holy Spirit and what God has told you to do. I am not saying that the enemy won’t be coming with lots of distractions to keep you busy, but that is in essence all it is. Keep your focus on what the Holy Spirit has told you to do. And do it. When you walk in God’s plan for your life, all the provision, breakthrough and victory is already waiting there for you.
When I stopped and refocused on what God has said to me before, I realised that He has clearly told me to EACH day first spend time in His presence to hear from Him how I should walk through the day. You can read more on what He told me here in a previous post.
Have I been doing it? Honestly, I tried to do it, I did it as often as I found some time, I did it when my life wasn’t too busy with other things (distractions much?). But what God has shown me, is until I am obedient to what God has told me to do before, I will not get my next step from Him. Because He is waiting on me to complete the previous step.
I feel many believers are also stuck in this cycle of desperately seeking the next prophecy, or Word from their pastor, or video on youtube, or whatsapp message, on what to do to reach their promised land, while the reason they are stuck may be because they have not been obedient with the Words they have received in the past. Let us search our own hearts to align it with Jesus Christ who has set us free from striving and trying to get breakthrough ourselves, but trusting in Him who supplies all we need if we follow Him.
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes and to carefully observe My ordinances. Then you will live in the land that I gave your forefathers; you will be My people, and I will be your God. Ezekiel 36:26-28
“As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the LORD. “My Spirit who is on you, and My words that I have put in your mouth, will not depart from your mouth, from the mouths of your children, or from the mouths of your children’s children, from now on and forevermore,” says the LORD. Isaiah 59:21
But now Jesus, our High Priest, has been given a ministry that is far superior to the old priesthood, for he is the one who mediates for us a far better covenant with God, based on better promises. Hebrews 8:6
Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:19-23
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God Romans 8:14
For the flesh desires what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit desires what is against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you don’t do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Galatians 5:17-18
I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6
Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. Hebrews 10:35-36
I hope that reading this has at the very least made you stand still for a moment, and tune your ear to what the Holy Spirit is saying to you. Now go and do it.
